I think that the first thing that needs to be established is "Trust" with your cat. And never at all costs allow them to link "pain" with grooming. It is advisable to first get them used to the brush. Play with them with it and let them see that it is not a evil thing. Cats are curious and if you get down on the floor with a brush they will come to you to see what you have. Run it along the back of their head and back. They love to be brushed in areas that they cannot reach so under the chin is always a favorite spot.
The grooming tools are critical so as not to injur your cat. I use small scissors to cut out matts. I was told by a groomer to insert the blades into the matt and cut out away from the cat numerous times until the matt will comb out. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT OUT A MATT SIDEWAYS. THIS COULD WIND UP WITH A HORRIBLE INJURY!
I am going to add on to this blog and need everyone's help. Please respond to this blog and I will keep it going with answers.

Persian Cat care and Maintenance
.jpg)
I HAVE 6 Persian cats and I will say that they are unlike the typical house cat. The Persian is a gentle and kind creature; very classy and sassy. They seem to know they are special and react accordingly.
I am new at blogging but am really trying hard to get a website going to be a part of the big world of the Internet. My intention is to educate people and help with resolutions and health issues for the PERFECT PERSIAN...I will be covering diet and care of the Persian and would welcome any suggestions or stories.
Grooming the Persian
It is best to start out with the kitten so that they become accustomed to the ritual that will be a familiar part of their life. I have to be very careful not to stress out my cats while grooming. There are a lot of really neat grooming tools that you can find.
The Persian cat needs to be given a bath a few times a year. They need to be groomed 2-3 times per week. I have been very happy with
for the various supplies including nail clippers, scratching posts(I do not believe in declawing), shampoos and just about anything else that you would need. They also have gifts for the animal lovers out there. I hope you browse their site for your needs.
Thanks for visiting my page.
